Neverness to Everness · Team Archetype
Scorch Team
NTE's premier sustained-DoT archetype. Incantation + Chaos triggers Scorch — a 15-second burn — and the whole team is built to stack DoTs and then double them with Sagiri's amplifier. This is the role map, not a single fixed comp.
Overview
Verdict
The strongest long-fight archetype in NTE: its damage compounds the longer a boss lives. It revolves around one multiplier — Sagiri, who can double all DoT taken — wrapped around an Incantation Scorch enabler and a Chaos DoT carry. Premium-leaning and weak in short bursts, but one of the highest ceilings in sustained content.
Ratings
The reaction — and why it's a team
Scorch fires when the team lands Incantation and Chaos on the same target: “Inflicts Scorch on the target for 15s, dealing DoT after triggering Esper Cycle.” On its own a 15s burn is minor — what makes it an archetype is the trio of passives that scale off it.
Can I Eat This?: Increases DoT taken by the target by 25% for each type of DoT effect while in Scorch state, up to 100%.
The reason Scorch is a team and not just a debuff — up to +100% DoT taken, i.e. double every damage-over-time source.
Moderate Mischief: Inflicts another instance of Scorch with the same effect when a Power Word is generated on a target already affected by Scorch.
Keeps the 15s DoT permanently refreshed and stacks the DoT-type count Sagiri scales off.
Temperance: Applies one of three random debuffs whenever Scorch is inflicted: -20% ATK, -10% Esper Resistance, or +10% Break Efficiency, lasting for 15s.
F2P-accessible Incantation enabler that also debuffs the target every time Scorch lands.
Plus the gear: Diabolos (4-piece) ignores 12% of Chaos RES, rising to 24% for 20s after a Scorch reaction — a direct bonus for the Chaos carry. See the Equipment guide for the full set.
Roles & unit options
A Scorch team fills these jobs. Pick one unit per role to what you own.
DoT Carry
The damage core — stacks the biggest DoT pool, which Sagiri's amplifier then multiplies.
Scorch Enabler
Brings the Incantation half (the Chaos half comes from the carry) and keeps Scorch applied.
DoT Amplifier
The force multiplier — turns the stacked DoTs into roughly double damage.
+25% DoT taken per DoT type, up to +100% — the single highest-value slot in any Scorch team. Geared as a support (Speedy Hedgehog: fast Ultimate + team ATK buff), not a DPS.
Support / Flex
Sustain, a Break/Discord pivot, or extra Incantation amp — pick to the content.

Sustained DoT
Best ceilingThe played Lacrimosa DoT comp: Baicang re-applies Scorch, Sagiri doubles the DoT, and Haniel adds a big ATK% buff plus a Nova layer that can graduate the team into Discord. Swap Haniel for Adler if you need a shield instead.
Without Sagiri
BudgetLoses the doubling but keeps the Scorch core. Daffodill adds Break and a Discord cycle; Edgar sustains the ramp.
Rotation principle
The frame-perfect loop depends on the carry — open that character's own guide for it. The archetype loop is always the same:
Apply Chaos (carry)
Lead with the carry's Skill to put Chaos damage and the first DoT stacks on the target.
Trigger Scorch (enabler)
Swap to Baicang (or Adler) to land the Incantation half — the Esper Cycle fires Scorch. Baicang re-applies it on every Power Word.
Amplify (Sagiri)
Bring Sagiri online so DoT taken rises 25% per DoT type, toward the +100% cap.
Stack & burst (carry)
Return to the carry to pile on DoT and fire its burst window. Re-trigger Scorch before it expires and repeat.
- Short fights punish this team — DoT needs time to tick and ramp. For burst content, use a different archetype.
- Unit picks per role are guidance from the roster, not the only valid options; a character's own guide has its exact best comp.
- Add a Nova source (Chaos + Psyche) to chain Scorch + Nova into the Discord trio.
