The consensus #1: a universal control + ATK buffer who slots into almost every team and amplifies DoT. The safest, most future-proof selector choice.

Reroll Guide
Should you even reroll in NTE? Short answer: you don't have to. There's no 50/50, and a guaranteed S-Class selector hands you a strong unit at 50 Standard rolls no matter what. This guide covers when rerolling is worth the ~15–20 min, and — far more important — who to pick with that selector.
Should you reroll?
NTE is one of the most reroll-light gachas around, for two reasons:
No 50/50
Every S-Class you pull on a Limited Board is the featured character — there's no off-banner coin flip to dodge by rerolling.
Guaranteed selector
At 50 Standard rolls you simply pick a strong S-Class. A good start isn't down to luck — it's a menu.
Real cost: time
Each fresh run is ~15–20 min of mostly-unskippable prologue before the gacha. That's the price, not gems.
Verdict: reroll only if you specifically want the current featured limited unit in hand from day one. Otherwise, just play — your 50-roll selector guarantees a meta-relevant start.
The Standard Selector — your real first choice
The Standard Board holds a fixed pool of 6 common S-Class characters. Your first 50 Standard rolls grant a one-time Character Selection— you pick one of the six outright. This is the single most impactful early decision in the game, and it's 100% in your control.
The six are read straight from the game's permanent lottery data: Sagiri, Baicang, Hathor, Fadia, Daffodill, Jiuyuan. (Community sources also report the first 50 Standard rolls are discounted — treat that as community info, not confirmed in the data here.)
Best selector picks
Ranked from the community meta. Sagiri is the consensus #1; the middle tier is close; Jiuyuan's value depends on whether you need a second DPS.
AoE damage, Remora control (+team Crit Rate) and energy generation — a strong early carry-support hybrid.
The Break specialist — craters boss Break gauges with very low field time. Anchors the Discord break archetype.
Single-target Incantation DoT carry and the premier Scorch enabler — high ceiling, rewards skilled play.
Contested: rated highly as a SECOND DPS for endgame content that needs two teams, but lower priority if you only need one carry to start.
A Psyche tank / damage-share unit — useful but the lowest selector priority for a new account.
Not sure beyond the top pick? Sagiri is almost never wrong. After that, choose the element/role your first team is missing — check the live tier list.
Limited reroll targets
If you do reroll, the only thing worth rerolling for is the current featured Limited S-Class— because there's no 50/50, an early copy is a real head start, and it's the one unit the selector can't give you.
Featured units rotate, so this guide won't hardcode one. Open the Gacha & Pull Strategy guide and the tier listto see who's featured now and whether they're worth the reroll time. As a rule: a top-tier on-element carry or a universal support is worth it; a niche unit usually isn't.
How to reroll
Make a new account
Use a guest/throwaway login so you can bin it and restart if the pulls aren't what you want.
Clear the prologue (~15–20 min)
There are mandatory, mostly-unskippable cutscenes before the gacha unlocks. This is the real cost of rerolling in NTE — budget the time.
Spend your Standard rolls
Burn your starting Fabricated Dice on the Standard Board toward the 50-roll milestone.
Claim the 50-roll Selector
At 50 total Standard rolls you get a permanent S-Class Character Selection — pick one of the six above. This is guaranteed regardless of luck.
Bind or restart
Happy with your start (selector + any limited S-Class)? Bind the account. If not, the throwaway login lets you go again.
- The ~15–20 min prologue per run is the real deterrent — most players do 1–2 runs at most, or skip rerolling entirely.
- Featured-unit advice goes stale as banners rotate — always check the live tier list / gacha guide before committing.
- The “discounted first 50 rolls” figure comes from community guides and isn't verified in the lottery data here.
