“"Flowers: Butterflies to Flowers" by Bichir Whites, and an anonymous contributor. Whites mentioned multiple times in his diary that he met a close friend during his travels, and they would often meet to discuss art. They even slept side-by-side in the studio, painting through the night. The "Flowers" series was created during this period. Perhaps influenced by this friend, Whites' paintings from this time used lighter, fresher colors and focused mainly on depicting the concrete forms of objects. "Butterflies to Flowers" is the third painting in this series, created by Whites after hearing a tragic local love story. The other person wrote a poem for this artwork. "The butterfly messenger seeks branches where buds first bloom, half-rolled rouge petals, shy of the eastern wind's gaze."”
